Are you thinking of getting a gaming laptop in Nepal, but don’t have a deep pocket? Don't Worry! We have got you covered. While one could easily get decent budget gaming laptops under 1 lakh in previous years, this is no longer the case. The
prices of laptops in Nepal have gone up since the beginning of the pandemic.
Thus, you need to spend at least 1 lakh for a decent budget gaming laptop.
How to buy a budget gaming laptop in Nepal?
Let's first start with the things that you should consider before buying an entry-level gaming laptop. At this price range, you can't hope for the latest and greatest graphics. The most readily available card for laptops is going to an RTX 2050 with DLSS support. While you'll occasionally find laptops with a GTX 1650 card, you should probably skip those due to their age. Sometimes, you might get lucky and score a deal on an RTX 3050 (4GB / 6GB), but that has been rare to come across in this segment. Fortunately for us lucky folks, there are good RTX 3050 deals around that 1 lakh mark right now which you should definitely pay some attention to.
As for CPU, you can go with either Intel or AMD as long as you are getting the H-series processors (Intel 13th Gen or Ryzen 7000/8000 series). Instead, pay more attention to RAM and storage. Most gaming laptops under Rs. 1 lakh in Nepal ship with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD, which is not enough for gaming in the long run. So, upgrade to 16GB RAM whenever you can, even if it means going over the budget by a bit.
120-144Hz screens are common, but unless you are into competitive gaming, higher refresh rates should not bother you much. Most laptops in this price range come with panels with 250 nits of brightness and 45% of NTSC coverage. Things like portable form factor, metal body, MUX switch, and RGB backlighting are rare.
You should also pay attention to aspects such as build and thermals. That being said, RGB backlighting should not be a top priority when choosing a budget gaming laptop. Also, make sure the laptop you are purchasing is a genuine one. For this, always opt for reliable and reputed stores whenever possible, even if it means paying some extra bucks.

3. Acer Nitro V 15 (2023)
Starting off our list of the best budget gaming laptops in Nepal is the Acer Nitro V 15 (2023). It gets the horsepower of the Intel Core i5-13420H CPU paired with a 6GB RTX 3050. You get 8/16GB of DDR5 RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. There are 2 SO DIMM slots for your RAM but only a single M.2 slot for the SSD.
Opening the lid gets you to the 15.6-inch IPS display with a Full HD resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. The Nitro V 15 (2023) gets its juice from a 57.5Wh battery, accompanied by 135W charging. There are a few Type-A ports, a type-C Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, ethernet, and a 3.5mm jack.
2. Lenovo LOQ 15 (2024)
Lenovo's LOQ 15 is probably our favorite laptop on this list but unfortunately, it couldn't quite secure the gold because the winner....well, we'll get to that. But first, let's see what we've got here with the LOQ.
LOQ 15's CPU/GPU combo mostly matches the competition in this range with an i5-12450HX and an RTX 3050 with a high TGP. You get 12GB of fast 5200MHz DDR5 memory alongside a 512GB SSD. Since there are two RAM and SSD slots, you can upgrade your LOQ down the road with more memory as well.
The display is the best we found in a gaming laptop at this price point. Not only do you get a fast 144Hz Full HD IPS panel, but it is also plenty bright and colorful. The LOQ 15 is the only gaming laptop under 1 lakh rupees to have a 100% sRGB color gamut and 350 nits of brightness. Port selection and connectivity are also pretty decent with three USB-3 ports, a Type-C port with 140W power delivery, an HDMI, and an ethernet port. There's dual-band WiFi 6 support with Bluetooth 5.1. The reason why the LOQ missed the top spot is because the next laptop in this list secures an RTX 4050 for not a whole lot extra.
Although we are not exactly a big fan,
1. HP Victus 15 (2024)
Securing the top spot on our list of best budget gaming laptops under 1 lakh in Nepal is the HP Victus 15 (2024). And that's because this guy somehow brings the glory of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU for just over 1 lakh rupees! Unbelievable!
This Victus has a Ryzen 5 8645HS CPU which we tested had pretty good single and multicore performance but of course an RTX 4050 for just 103-106k is a bargain that's super rare to come by! The GPU has 6GB of VRAM and runs at a max of 75W but given the scenario and this particular card, the lower TGP doesn't warrant a negative review. You also get 8 or 16GB of memory (+ 3k NPR), and a 512GB NVME Gen 4 SSD with good speeds.
Moreover, the large 70Wh cell paired with a very efficient 4nm AMD chip makes for good endurance that's worthy of being a normal everyday notebook as well.
Well, the display isn't as bright or accurate as the LOQ, and the build quality also leaves some to be desired, but given the raw bang for the buck you are getting here, this is definitely the best budget gaming laptop to get in Nepal right now!
