Alcatel is a French brand of phones owned by Nokia. However, another popular brand TCL owns the licence to the brand. As such, TCL produces and distributes smartphones under Alcatel namesake. The brand hasn't been very active and TCL's licence will expire on 2024 as well. Hence, we will have to wait and see where the company goes.
