A few months after its global launch, DJI's latest drone, the Mini 3 has finally arrived in Nepal. It's amore compact and cost-effective version of the original Mini 3 Pro, which was released in May. According to DJI, it is well-suited for first-time users in suburban and urban scenarios. So, let's go over the specifications, features, availability, and official price of the DJI Mini 3 in Nepal.

Body

Like the Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 3 is a small drone measuring 251x362x72 mm (with propellers) and weighing 248 grams. So, it can easily slip into a backpack pocket, ready for flight whenever you need it. Despite its compact size, the drone can withstand wind speeds of up to 10.7m/s, providing stable videos even in gusty conditions. In terms of looks, the 3 Pro and Mini 3 are nearly identical.

Camera

Additionally, DJI has used the same 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor with an f/1.7 aperture as the Mini 3 Pro. That means its HDR recording caps out at 4K@30fps. You can use the digital zoom of 2x in 4K / 30fps, and 4x in 1080p videos. In terms of photography, it shoots 12MP images by default. Whereas, DJI's 4-in-1 pixel technology allows you to go all the way up to 48MP. As always, DJI has packed a slew of features to make recording easier and more enjoyable. The drone comes with an automated Quickshots shooting mode, which is a collection of pre-programmed flight and filming paths that will allow you to shoot Dronie, Circle, Helix, Rocket, and Boomerang shots with just a tap. There is also an option for "true vertical shooting," which rotates the camera 90 degrees to create content suitable for social media platforms. On the other hand, DJI’s O2 digital video transmission feature can deliver a 720p / 30fps live feed from up to 10km away.

Security

Aside from that, there are some automated features designed for drone safety. When issues such as a dropped signal or a low battery are detected, the Mini 3 returns to its starting point via Return to Home (RTH) feature. Similarly, the drone hovers more stably and accurately thanks to its precise hovering technique, which combines GNSS with the downward vision system and the infrared sensing system.

The Mini 3 has a maximum flight time of 38 minutes with the standard Intelligent Flight Battery and 51 minutes with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. In case you were wondering, the Flight Battery and Flight Battery Plus are two distinct battery units with varying capacities. Furthermore, like the Mini 3 Pro, the Mini 3 is compatible with RC and RC-N1 controllers.
