The Victus lineup has been a popular choice for budget-conscious gamers and now a higher-end variant sporting a Ryzen 9 CPU and RTX 4060 GPU is now available for purchase in India. Performance 

The major highlight of this Victus 15 is the bang-for-buck performance with the Ryzen 9, RTX 4060 combo. There are various other configurations of the HP Victus 15 (2024) that are already available in Nepal so we hope this one arrives soon too. But getting to the nitty-gritty, the AMD CPU here is the Ryzen 9 8945HS Zen 4 processor with 8 cores 16 threads, and a peak clock of 5.2 GHz while the RTX 4060 is a good midrange GPU too. But there’s a slight problem here and that has to do with something called the TGP! You see a computer component that can only run at its full potential when fed enough power but the RTX 4060 here can only run at up to 75W when its theoretical limit is 140W! So, that’s a bummer but regardless, you are still getting very good performance for the price

Display and Design

Moving onto the display, you get your typical 15.6-inch Full-HD panel with an antiglare coating. It’s a 144Hz IPS screen that can hit up to 300 nits. Quite a common configuration for budget gaming as it can deliver high FPS without compromising visuals. But, there’s a catch here too. Just like any other Victus 15, this guy can only cover 62.5% of the sRGB gamut, so it might not be up to the mark for any color-sensitive work like video editing and photo manipulation.

The machine weighs 2.29 kilo and is available in ‘Mica Silver’ and ‘Performance Blue’ color options. There are two USB A ports, a Type-C port, an HDMI, an SD card reader, and a headphone microphone jack for wired connections while wireless options include dual stream WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Battery and Rest

Under the hood, there’s a relatively large 70Wh battery with a modest 120W adapter. HP says that you should be able to fill up to 50% in just half an hour. In terms of peripherals, you get a good enough plastic trackpad with gesture support, a membrane keyboard with white backlit, and a numpad on the side. There’s a 720p webcam on the top bezel with dual bottom-facing speakers. There are two SO-DIMM RAM slots inside supporting a theoretical maximum of 256GB (DDR5 5600) RAM while you only get a single M.2 SSD slot.
