Huawei launched its new batch of smartwatches, including the latest addition to its popular Watch GT lineup. The series saw two new members — the regular Huawei Watch GT 5 and a Pro model. Here, we will delve into the details of the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro and discuss its official price in Nepal as well.
Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro Overview
Design and Display
Similar to its regular counterpart, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro boasts 5ATM as well as an IP69K rating and comes in two sizes. While the larger option remains at 46mm, the smaller variant adds a millimeter to its size reaching 42mm.
There are “Sports” and “Classic” editions in both sizes, where the wristband material is the differentiating factor. The former option comes with a standard fluoroelastomer while the other watch version enjoys more premium materials. The larger one of the two is made of Titanium and the smaller one of ceramic.
Similarly, the case materials are Titanium alloy and Nanocrystalline Ceramic respectively. This is a step up from the stainless steel on the regular models. Furthermore, the larger option looks hefty with sharper edges and an octagonal shape, while the latter appears more demure with a more delicately designed crown.
The screens on the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro are the same as the regular variants. Given that, the 46mm option boasts a larger 1.43-inch display and the smaller one measures at 1.32 inches. It is an AMOLED panel with always-on-display capability and the pixel density comes in at 326PPI and 352PPI respectively. Additionally, the company mentions using sapphire glass on top of the screen for 42mm. The male version of the watch likely has the same thing, but the company has not specifically said so.
This Pro model of Huawei's popular wearables does everything the titular version does, and more. That being said, you get Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity with a calling feature and NFC payment support. It also offers over 100 workout modes assisted with GNSS, an emotional well-being app, calorie deficit calculation with the Stay Fit app, and all other vitals tracking.
While that's there, let's discuss the niche feature of the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro. Firstly, it has data of 15,000+ golf courses complete with 3D views of the green, fairways, and bunkers. Additionally, it gives you tips on aiming, measures the distance, and even suggests the type of club to use.
Similarly, you get “Trail run mode” with support for segment-based navigation, off-course alert, contour lines, and crown-controlled zoomable maps. Then there are features for divers like a hover timer, water type identification, safety reminders, apnea training, and tests to enhance their stamina. On top of that, this thing can also analyse the users' ECG!
Battery
While the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro has a more premium build and is equipped with distinguished features, the battery life on this watch remains the same. Given that, the 46mm option lasts 14 days on peak and nine days on typical use. In the meantime, the 42mm one peaks out at seven days and offers five days of normal usage. This watch also charges wirelessly and the company has shed light on the charging time too, which is 60 minutes of plugging in.
