Before we begin, let’s talk about the confusing branding decisions Lenovo has taken with the laptops. In most countries, Nepal included, Lenovo sells the laptops under the Yoga branding. On the other hand, you might even see the same laptops listed as Slim 7 and Slim 7i in select regions, like the US. Also, this article will focus on the 14-inch Yoga Slim 7/7i Pro since it is the only one available in Nepal. However, Lenovo also sells a 16” model overseas.

Yoga Slim 7 Pro vs. Yoga Slim 7i Pro

The 2022 Yoga Slim 7 Pro laptops come in Intel and AMD flavors—represented by the presence and absence of the “i” suffix. The Intel-powered Yoga Slim 7 Pro has four CPU options: Core i5-12500H, i5-1240P, Core i7-12700H, and i7-1260P. The base models come with integrated Iris Xe graphics, but you can opt for GeForce MX550 and RTX 2050 GPU if your workload demands it. If you are inclined to the AMD-powered Yoga Slim 7 Pro, you can choose between three Zen 3+-based Ryzen processors: Ryzen 5 6600HS, Ryzen 7 6800HS, and Ryzen 9 6900HS. All three come with the RDNA 2-based Radeon 660M integrated graphics. Sadly, there is no option for discrete graphics unless you go for the 16’ model. The AMD and Intel versions also differ on the connectivity front. There are options for Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6E on the Yoga Slim 7i Pro— whereas the Yoga Slim 7 Pro settles for standard USB-C and WiFi 6 support.

Design and Display

The 16” model is available with a 2.5K multi-touch glossy IPS screen with 120Hz refresh rate. On the contrary, the 14-inch Yoga Slim 7/7i Pro even offers a 2.8K OLED version with 100% DCI-P3 and 90Hz refresh rate. There are also cheaper configurations with matte IPS screens with 100% sRGB coverage. Here, you get to choose between 90Hz 2.8K and 60Hz 2.2K options. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 and Slim 7i Pro feature a 180° hinge to lay the notebook flat. The laptops have an all-aluminum chassis and arrive in Cloud Grey and Storm Grey colors. Depending upon the configuration you choose, they can measure up to 15mm and weigh around 1.4 kg.

Fueling the Yoga Slim 7 Pro 2022 lineup is a 61Wh Li-Polymer battery. Lenovo even includes a PD 3.0-compatible 100W USB-C power adapter in the box. With the Rapid Charge Express, you can get up to 3 hours of endurance with just 15 minutes of charging. They come with FHD webcams with IR sensors for Windows Hello authentication. The audio setup includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

The price of Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro in Nepal is Rs. 155,000 for the Ryzen 7 6800HS model with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Likewise, the Intel Core i7-powered Yoga Slim 7i Pro costs  Rs. 182,000 for the same memory configuration. However, it brings a discrete GPU and an OLED display.
