AMD has launched the Radeon RX 9070 graphics card globally. This GPU is based on the latest RDNA 4 architecture, featuring AI-powered FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling. Key Features and Architecture

The Radeon RX 9070 uses RDNA 4 architecture, built on a 4nm process. AMD has optimized the compute units, improved ray-tracing performance, and enhanced media encoding quality. It features second-generation AI accelerators, third-generation ray-tracing accelerators, and a second-generation radiance display engine. AMD clarified the shift from the RX 7000 to RX 9000 series, stating that the RX 8000 series will be used for RDNA 3.5-based mobile GPUs. The RX 9000 series is specifically for RDNA 4 desktop GPUs.

FSR 4 Integration

The RX 9070 introduces FSR 4, AMD’s machine learning-based upscaling and frame-generation technology. FSR 4 is exclusive to RDNA 4 GPUs and will be supported in games already using FSR 3.1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be among the first titles to support this feature.

Compared to it's XT sibling, the RX 9070 chugs in a lot less power at just 220W. Meanwhile, AMD is updating its Adrenalin software with new AI-powered tools.
