The Galaxy Watch Ultra brings a serious design upgrade over its predecessors not just in looks, but in durability too. It features a Grade 4 Titanium cushion case that’s built to survive rough terrains. The case is paired with Sapphire Crystal glass on the front, which adds a premium touch and strong scratch resistance. The watch is also MIL-STD-810H certified, rated for extreme temperatures (-4°F to 131°F), and can handle altitudes up to 29,527 feet. And with IP68 + 10ATM water and dust resistance, it’s even suitable for diving or heavy rain. In terms of size, you’re getting a 47mm dial, which is slightly bigger than the Watch8 Classic. It’s still surprisingly lightweight due to the titanium build, and comes in four bold colors: Titanium Blue, Silver, Gray, and White with matching performance bands like Trail, Marine, and PeakForm.
On the display side, Samsung packed in a vibrant Super AMOLED panel with always-on capability and Night Mode for better visibility in low-light conditions.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra runs on One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS, backed by a powerful 3nm processor. The UI feels snappy, animations are smooth, and app performance is noticeably better compared to previous Galaxy Watches. It also supports a wide range of apps from the Google Play Store, giving it an edge in flexibility.
One of the biggest upgrades is the addition of Galaxy AI features. You get an Energy Score that analyzes your sleep, activity, and heart rate to tell you how ready your body is for the day. It also offers Suggested Replies for messages and Raise to Speak voice control with Google Gemini. For fitness, there’s support for Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cyclists, Race mode to compare your current performance with previous runs or rides, and Track Back GPS navigation to guide you back to your starting point. You also get personalized heart rate zones for better workout targeting, and Night Mode for improved visibility in low light. Even the Health tracking is more advanced now, with features like Vascular Load Monitoring to show heart stress while sleeping, and the AGES index, which gives insight into how your diet may affect long-term metabolic health. The watch works best with Samsung devices but is also compatible with other Android phones, though some AI features may be limited.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra packs Samsung’s longest-lasting battery yet on a smartwatch. On regular use, it easily lasts around 3 days, and if you switch to Power Saving Mode, it can stretch up to 100 hours. There’s also an Exercise Power Saving Mode, which offers up to 48 hours of battery life while tracking workouts. Charging is still wireless and fairly quick, taking just over an hour to top up fully.
In terms of connectivity, the Watch Ultra comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and LTE support, so you can take calls, stream music, or use maps without needing your phone. The dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5) improves accuracy, especially in challenging environments like forests or city streets. The watch also syncs seamlessly with other Galaxy devices, but it works with most Android phones as long as you have the Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health apps installed. However, some advanced features like Energy Score and AGEs tracking may be limited on non-Samsung phones.
