Sony’s back with its premium compact, the RX1R III. This third-gen model packs a 61MP full-frame sensor in a body that still fits in one hand. This article will discuss everything about the latest Sony RX1R III, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Sony’s kept things compact, but the RX1R III now comes with a flat top plate and an integrated viewfinder. The rear screen is no longer tilting , meaning it’s now fixed in place. You’re getting a 2.36M-dot OLED EVF with 0.7x magnification, tucked neatly into the corner.
Inside, there’s Sony’s latest BIONZ XR processor and an AI Processing Unit. The camera’s got 693 phase-detect points and can recognize people, animals, birds, and even cars. Autofocus is snappy, but that classic 35mm F2 lens still limits how fast it can move glass.
The RX1R III also shoots 4K/30p with support for S-Cinetone, Log, and LUTs. Plus, you get 12 Creative Looks, including nostalgic film-like color profiles like FL2 and FL3. You can switch focal lengths (35mm, 50mm, 70mm) with Step Crop Shooting.
The RX1R III runs on the NP-FW50 battery, good for around 300 shots. It charges via USB-C, supports USB PD, and the build is solid magnesium alloy. No weather-sealing mentioned, but the design feels high-end and minimal.
Weight: 498g
The Sony RX1R III is already available internationally for USD 5099.99 for body alone. To compare, 2015's RX1R II debuted at USD 3,299. Which comes to around USD 4,400 even when adjusted for inflation, making the RX1R III a ridiculously expensive camera. There's no word on its Nepal availability yet, but when it launches, we expect the price of Sony RX1R III to be around NPR 792,000.
