With every brand going 'Ultra' with its name and the camera game, Xiaomi's 2024 iteration is here with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra moniker. Xiaomi 14 Ultra Overview:
Sony LYT 900 Sensor, 5X Periscope
Addressing the elephant of the room, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra boasts a new 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor, an upgrade from the IMX989 the company used in the last model. In addition, this Leica Simmilux lens gets the f/1.6 - f/4.0 'Stepless Variable Aperture' technology, claimed to capture 136% more light than its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Next up, the zoom game is pretty much the same as last year.
You get a 50MP 3.2X telephoto lens and a 5X periscope lens. But the 120mm periscope camera gets a wider f/2.5 aperture and it can do 30X AI-powered zoom. Plus, the minimum focusing distance is 10cm from the 3.2X 75mm camera and 30cm from the 5X 120mm periscope lens.
And last not the least, filling the quad camera setup is a 50MP ultrawide sensor with 122˚FoV. Upfront, there is a 32MP f/2.0 selfie snapper capable of shooting 4K at 60fps.

Continuing the Xiaomi-Leica partnership, this camera-centric Xiaomi 14 Ultra gets all the Leica goodies such as Leica Authentic, Leica Vibrant modes, Leica exclusive filters, and so on.
Design and Display
In terms of build, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra goes for a flat frame body with slightly curved edges on the back. The regular editions come with an aluminum alloy middle frame with a glass or eco-leather back. Meanwhile, you can also opt for a Grade 5 Titanium frame edition for the extra sturdiness. As for the ingress protection, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is sorted with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
Xiaomi has opted for a curved 6.73-inch screen with 2K resolution (3200 x 1440) pixels with self-developed Longjing glass protection. This is not your usual curved display but lightly curved on all sides like on the Xiaomi 14 Pro. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and 3000nits of peak brightness.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Under the hood, this Xiaomi flagship is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This 4nm fabbed SoC boasts a prime Cortex-X4 core clocking at 3.3GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores at 3.2GHz, and two A520 cores running at 2.3GHz frequency. Handling the graphics is the Adreno 750 GPU. And to keep the thermals in check, there is a 3X larger vapor chamber cooling.
In terms of memory and storage, you get three options for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra: 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 16GB/1TB. Moreover, booting the smartphone is the new HyperOS built on top of Android 14.
Battery and Others
Fueling the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a 5,300mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging, 80W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging support. Even the battery gets G1 and P2 chips for protection. Talking of connectivity, the Titanium Special Edition gets two-way satellite communications. While all of the versions boast a T1 signal enhancement chip for improved WiFi, cellular, and Bluetooth connectivity.
In China, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's price begins at CNY 6,499 for the base 12/256GB trim. We expect the Xiaomi 14 Ultra price in Nepal to start at NPR 144,999 if and when it launches here.
